about
Following a change in career direction, I enrolled onto an Art & Design Foundation course as a mature student, progressing to undergraduate and postgraduate study and attaining a Masters in Illustration in 2018.
I have always been interested in the way people engage and interact with each other within a functional, or dysfunctional, society. One aspect of this is the coming together of people into groups or crowds, particularly for the purpose of protest. This framed my MA research project and led me to produce a body of work for my Masters related to Manchester's Peterloo Massacre of 1819.
My current practice, although not exclusively, is rooted in traditional methods of printmaking. My interest in engaging with social history continues and my emerging visual work explores themes around identity within social and cultural structures.
